The WATUCAB is a revolutionary method using water as carrying fluid to install power cables in PVC or HDPE ducts in reduced size trenches.

Advantages:

• Reduced installation and civil engineering cost.
• Less disturbance to neighbourhood (mobile site).
• Greatly reduced risk of damages to cable and duct during installation.
• Allows the possibility to install longer cable sections safely over tortuous duct routes, hence reduction of the number of junctions.

Characteristics:

• Allows the installation of significant lengths of cable (HTA: >2km ; HTB: > 3km), whereas a winch, considering the pulling forces exerted, is limited to lengths inferior by about 50%.
• Faster than winching.
• Allows the installation of longer cable sections over tortuous duct routes (siphon, directional drilling) where a normal winch is unsuitable.
